The Kite Runner | Chapter Activities 1
In class, we did chapter activities for the Kite Runner novel. We were given the option to do a photogrpahy activity, create a soundtrack, draw a picture, write a short story, or write a poem about the chapters of the kite runner. My favourite chapter activity that I did was the Kite Runner sountrack. Chosing the songs that had some sort of realtion with the novel was tricky at first. My favourite part of this activity was putting the songs together into one Mash-up. We chose five songs for this soundtrack. The songs we picked were Secrets by One Republic, Fix you by Coldplay, Spirit Cold by Tall Heights, Growing Up by Mackelmore ft. Ed Sheeran, and I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz. For each song we chose a certain verse that had a connection to the Kite Runner.
An example of one of the songs we did:
SECRETS: This song represents the time when Rahim Khan was trying to tell Amir Baba’s greatest secret. Hassan’s father was sterile, Sanaubar could have never bore Ali a child. It was Baba who was Hassan’s father, and that meant that Amir and Hassan were half brothers. The lyrics that relates to this scene is:
"I need another story
Something to get off my chest My life gets kinda boring Need something that I can confess”
This is Rahim Khan trying to confess about what he knew
"Tell me what you want to hear Something that will light those ears Sick of all the insincere So I'm gonna give all my secrets away”
These lyrics represents Rahim giving Amir the answers that he wanted to know, and the answers that he needed.
